DESCRIPTION:Scripture tells us that God is close to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18) and that God notices and remembers every tear (Psalm 56:8). Grief is not a sign that something is wrong with a child (or a caregiver). It is a sign that love and connection mattered. The loss is real\, but it is not the whole story. Every of us is known\, valued\, and worth caring for. This month\, we will help you and your kiddos understand how grief shows up in our brains and bodies\, practice skills that help us care for big feelings\, and experience safe relationships where we can remember\, hope\, and be supported. \nOur Family Collective is our support group for foster\, adoptive and kinship families. Quarterly\, we gather for pizza and salad\, then break off into sessions by age/grade. Each session is led by local therapists who are trauma informed and want to support our families. If you are coming but not planning to have dinner\, please email Laura@TheFosteringCollective.org. \nLocation – South Spring Baptist Church 17002 Hwy 69 in Tyler.\nDinner will be served from 5:30-6:00pm.
