Our Family Collective is our monthly support group for foster, adoptive, and kinship families. Each month, we gather together for dinner and then break off into sessions pending age/grade. Each session is led by local therapists who are trauma informed and want to support our families.
Our April Family Collective will focus on Attachment. The longing of the human heart is to connect and belong. Dr. Dan Siegel claims that we are all born looking for someone looking for us. God designed us as relational beings and we need to connect to others around us! Attachment is the relationship bond that typically develops between a child and his or her primary caregivers. The formation of a secure attachment is essential for healthy social and emotional development. Children who form secure attachments with their caregivers lead happier and more fulfilling lives. Come join us on April 3rd as Rebecca Schall with Tapestry Counseling leads our adult session. Rebecca is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with teens, individuals, and couples with a variety of struggles, including loss and bereavement, depression, anxiety, and trauma.
We have many other great counselors lined up to lead each of our sessions as we focus on self regulation.
