Let’s Connect – Lunch and Learn for Kinship Families

The Fostering Collective 201 Winchester Drive, Tyler

Giving children "voice" empowers them to tell safe adults what they need, negotiate needs through appropriate communication, and believe their words deserve to be heard, valued, and respected. This is an important part of developing healthy attachment. Join us as we talk about how to help our kids learn to use their voice in healthy ways.

The Family Collective – The Power of Play

South Spring Baptist Church 17002 US-69, Tyler, TX, United States

Play is a need for both children and adults. It is key component of a healthy, thriving adult-child relationship yet many of us have lost the ability to play. Sadly, many children who have experienced trauma don't even know HOW to play.  We are thrilled to have Chantel Longino, LCSW with us this month to guide the adults through the very serious topic of PLAY! Can't wait to see you!

Our Family Collective is our monthly support group for foster, adoptive and kinship families.  Each month, we gather together for dinner and then break off into sessions pending age/grade.  Each session is led by local therapists who are trauma informed and want to support our families.

Play It Out Tuesday – June 11th at 6:30pm

The Fostering Collective's New Building 201 Winchester Drive, Tyler, TX, United States

Got big behaviors? Do you want to break down walls and work towards building connection and healing our families together? Playfulness disarms the fear response in children.  It helps build connection, teaches social skills, problem solving, communication and life skills.  Laughing swaps the cortisol in our bloodstream with highly sought after chemicals in the brain: dopamine, oxytocin and endorphins. Dopamine can enhance learning, motivation, and attention.

Join us this summer for our “Play It Out” sessions.  Each session has been designed to address issues our families face in the trenches of dealing with big behaviors.  Self regulation, interception,  felt safety and sensory issues are just a few topics we will tackle together.  We have 10 total sessions with 5 different topics each week.  Each session is limited to 20 people so RSVP ASAP. It’s going to be a great summer filled with lots of fun and making great memories.
