The Family Collective- Empathy

May 5 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Fostering and adoption affects the entire family.  We want to take some time in our adult portion this month to focus on this.  Max Heller, the College and Young Adult Pastor at Grace Community Church, grew up in a foster and adoptive home and is going to share some of his experiences.

Our youth are going to focus on Empathy.  We realize this is so important for all children in a foster and adoptive home.  Empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of others.  It’s foundation for healthy relationships.

Our Family Collective is our monthly support group for foster, adoptive and kinship families.  Each month, we gather together for pizza, salad, and then break off into sessions pending age/grade.  Each session is led by local therapists who are trauma informed and want to support our families.

Location- South Spring Baptist Church 17002 Hwy 69 in Tyler.
Dinner will be served from 5:30-6:00pm.  Sessions will run from 6:00 – 7pm.

Contact Tiffany Davault at tiffany@thefosteringcollective.org or 903-253-9144 for more information.
