For the Sake of One and The Fostering Collective are partnering together to host our annual Mom Connect Retreat February 28th-March 2nd for foster, adoptive and kinship moms. This years focus is "The Battle". Spoiler alert: God wins!!!
Our guest speaker for the weekend is Pam Parrish author of several books and one of our favorites "Battle Weary Parents". A little bit about Pam. She is a Follower of Jesus Christ. Mom of seven incredibly beautiful and amazing young women. Nana to four spunky grandchildren. Foster Care and Adoption Advocate. Founder and President of Connections Homes, an Atlanta-based organization working with young adults who've aged out of foster care, are homeless or otherwise without family. It's going to be a great time together. Who's in?

Our Family Collective is our monthly support group for foster, adoptive and kinship families. Each month, we gather together for pizza, salad, and then break off into sessions pending age/grade. Each session is led by local therapists who are trauma informed and want to support our families.

Do you want to hear more about how you can Be the Light for children in foster care? Join us on March 4th from 6pm-7:30pm at Grace Community Church's Old Jacksonville campus for a light dinner and presentation. We will share different ways we can serve children, their families, learn about getting your foster/adopt license, how to become a babysitter, support and advocate for children in care and so much more! We will also share with you about the children who are part of the Heart Gallery, looking for a forever family and available for adoption right now.
Local child placing agencies and CASA will be present and a light dinner will be served.

We are excited to offer once training that we partner with local child placing agencies to certify sitters for foster families. Participating agencies include 4Kids4Families, Arrow, Bair, Rekindle, TBHC, Methodist Children's Home, Grace Manor, Christian Homes, Azleway, UpBring, Hope Haven, Buckner, Compass Connection and Noble.
First Aid and CPR begins promptly at 5pm and the class starts at 5:45. Dinner will be provided for those attending in person.
Once you have attended this training, completed all the paperwork and become Infant and Child CPR and First Aid you will be able to serve families for up to 72 hours. You must be 21 or older.
We are offering an option to attend Virtually via Zoom. Please choose that option at check out.
If you need CPR/First Aid, you will need to pay an additional $50 to E&E Heartsavers. Their Venmo is Nancy-Elliott-CPR. Then text Nancy at 903-714-5101 your name and email address to get started on the online portion of the course. The hands on portion of the CPR/First Aid will begin at 5:00.
