Anna Valdez, the program director with Fostering Hope, will lead us as we deep dive into understanding how trauma affects the brain, body and belief system of a child and how, as caregivers, can bring hope and healing to the children we care for.

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. 2 Timothy 1:7. The best gift you can give your child, and yourself, is that of self regulation. The ability to maintain self control and manage your behaviors will take you so far in life. It doesn't always come naturally. We are going to spend time together November 1st at The Family Collective diving deeper into how we can learn skills and work together as a family towards self regulation. Keely Burks, owner at Restore Family Counseling Center, is going to lead our adult session. She is passionate about helping families heal from wounds. She is a TBRI practitioner and EMDR trained, giving her the tools to come alongside foster and adoptive families in a unique way. She's also an adoptive mom so she "get's it". We have a great team of therapists pouring into your children as well. They are going to come home with some wonderful tools to help as you being to work as a family towards calmness in our homes.
