Crowds, noises, bright lights, smells, surprises, change in routine, and more can make life difficult for our children from hard places. Kids with sensory issues often struggle with regulating and experience a lot of meltdowns. Come join us for a sensory experience led by local occupational therapist. They will help us learn why and how to plan and prepare for success. The experience begins at 2 on Feb 5th at South Spring Baptist Church 17002 Hwy 69 in Tyler in their Children’s Building. Contact Christi Sowell at christi@thefosteringcollective.org or 903-253-9144 for more information.
The adoption journey does not end on the day a child is welcomed home; in fact, the journey is just beginning. Children impacted by adoption and/or foster care have often experienced early attachment injuries related to loss, abuse, trauma, and/or neglect. There is hope and help, though. Whether you are in the adoption process, have welcomed a child home through adoption, or are loving and serving well children through foster care, you are not alone.
